Sarah Till Boysen

Dr. Boysen received her Ph.D. from The Ohio State University in 1984, and established a program of chimpanzee cognition research program the same year at OSU. Her project, the Comparative Cognition Project, has explored a variety of questions about animal cognition and behavior with chimpanzees, capuchin monkeys, dogs, and pigs over the course of its 24 year existence. Among the questions addressed included numerical competence in chimpanzees, comprehension of scale models, and tool construction tasks, among many others. Dr. Boysen is currently a Collaborating Investigator at the Center for Animal Welfare Science, Purdue University, West Lafayette IN USA.
